Report Streetlight Outage

We service more than 111,000 streetlights in Maryland. Street and area lights are an important community safety feature and we thank you for taking the time to make us aware of any problems, including lights that are out, flickering or that have been damaged. Specific information that you can provide regarding the location, address and pole number of the light will help our field personnel make repairs.

We only service overhead streetlights on wooden poles in Montgomery County, Maryland. Please report any other streetlight outages to Montgomery County Department of Public Works and Transportation. To do this, click here.

We service streetlights in Prince George's County on county and municipal roadways. If you have a problem in Prince George's County, please call Pepco Customer Service at 1-877-PEPCO-62 (1-877-737-2662).

Emergencies

If you discover a downed streetlight pole, exposed electrical wires or any other hazardous situation on our system, please call Pepco immediately at 1-877-PEPCO62 (1-877-737-2662) with information that includes the closest address, intersection or landmark:

Light Repair Response Time

Pepco typically responds to non-hazardous streetlight and area "light out" calls within 15 business days of notification. In some instances, the actual repairs may take up to 30 days. Longer repair periods might be due to damage to underground wiring, the need to special order parts or if the entire pole and fixture must be replaced. Streetlight repairs may also be delayed during storms or significant weather events. Our field personnel and customer service representatives concentrate on restoring electric service as a priority during significant weather events. If the repairs have not been completed within 30 days, please notify us at 1-877-PEPCO62 (1-877-737-2662).

Map Help

Use the map to locate the outdoor light you want to report. Zoom in to street level to view green light icons.

You can find a location by entering an address (street, city, and state or zip code) in the search box above, or you can allow the system to try to automatically locate you by clicking the GoTo My Location* link.

Once you have located the light, hover your cursor over the light’s green icon until the information box appears. Click the link at the bottom of the information box and complete the incident report form that appears to request service at that location. After submitting the form, the reported light is indicated as a red icon on the map.

If a street light location is not shown on the map you can simply click on the map to indicate the location of the problem light. Complete the incident report form that appears to request service at that location. Please provide as much information as possible.

* The GoTo My Location tool is available on HTML5 compatible browsers including Internet Explorer 8+, Chrome 10+, Firefox 4+, and Safari 5+
